Originally called “Select,” people asked for the “Blue Ribbon” beer when we began tying silk ribbons around the bottles in 1882 to commemorate its award-winning taste. The name was officially changed to Pabst Blue Ribbon in 1895. As a beer known today for its iconic can, it is fitting that PBR was first to introduce canned beer in 1935.
While much has changed in the world since PBR was first brewed in 1844, our commitment to high quality without pretense remains steadfast. It’s not multi-million dollar advertising campaigns that make a good product; it’s the true value it brings to consumers. We want to be there when you’re having fun, which is why PBR believes in supporting the communities that support us. Our distinction as the fastest growing American lager in the country tells us we’ve found a pretty good recipe.
Brewed since 1849, Old Milwaukee & Old Milwaukee Light are refreshing, high-quality American beers that continually receive national awards and accolades from beer experts and festivals. In 2012, legendary comedian Will Ferrell films Old Milwaukee commercials in Terre Haute, IN; Davenport, IA and Milwaukee, WI. The spots only air on local TV in the three markets, prompting fans to upload them to YouTube. The unprecedented campaign turns into a national curiosity; generating more than 339 million media impressions and over 4 million YouTube views and counting.
Old Mil and Ferrell even generated more buzz (178 million media impression, 1.3 million YouTube views) around 2012’s biggest football game than most advertisers by running one commercial in the nation’s second-smallest TV market, North Platte, NE for less than $1,000.

Keystone beer is a product of the Coors Brewing Company in Golden, Colorado. It was first introduced in Chico, California in September 1989. Keystone can be found in can, keg, and occasionally bottled form. Keystone Light has a 4.13%; a concentration less than standard American lagers, and roughly equal to other macro “light” brews. The “Light” and “Ice” versions of the beer are far more prevalent and readily available for retail across the United States. Though Keystone Premium exists, it appears much less than its “Light” variety on liquor store shelves. “Dry” and “Amber Light” varieties were discontinued in the late 90s.

We brew the golden pilsner with the yeast our founder brought over from Germany, light stable galena hops from the Pacific Northwest, and a select combination of malted barley. This combination made it a favorite in 1903, and it remains one today.
