Brewery Ommegang

In October of 1997, not far from the birthplace of baseball, ground was broken for what was to become America’s most unique microbrewery. Based on traditional Belgian farmhouse architecture and set on a former hop farm in upstate New York, Brewery Ommegang was born with the philosophy that truly unique ales must be built from the ground up. Now brewing five award-winning Belgian-style ales and offering daily tours and tastings, plus a full calendar of special events, Brewery Ommegang is the place where brewing is an art and partaking is a passion

Otter Creek Brewing Co.

Otter Creek has been hitting, hopping and dosing brews with creativity since acid-wash jeans were hip. Under the direction of brewmaster Mike Gerhart, we are undergoing a renaissance of rad, a rebirth of cool–throwing a bit of kind into the kettle whenever possible. Our hop-soaked ales are available throughout the Northeast and mid-Atlantic regions.

Samuel Adams

When Jim left his job to start a brewery, people told him he was crazy. After tasting that first batch of Samuel Adams Boston Lager in his kitchen, he knew he had something that just might prove the doubters wrong. It wasn’t like any beer out there. Full flavored with hops and malt yet balanced and complex. And a beer revolution began. The incredible thing is after all of these years, it’s still the same amazing beer and nothing else out there’s quite like it. Getting the best for Samuel Adams Boston Lager hasn’t always come easily, its taken dedication, persistence, and a bit of ingenuity. It started when Jim had to find the Noble hops for the beer. The recipe called for an abundance of the fragile and harder to grow Hallertau Mittelfueh hops which were nearly extinct. Undaunted, Jim worked closely with the growers to convince them to start growing them again, knowing that their aroma and flavor were essential to Samuel Adams Boston Lager. Six weeks after Jim started the business Samuel Adams Boston Lager won the “Best Beer in America” award at the Great American Beer Festival. It was quite a feat. No one had heard of the beer and the company had only three people. Today, Samuel Adams Boston Lager continues to win awards all over the world. Times may have changed but the beer remains the same.

Saranac Brewing Co.

Our attention to detail and uncompromising commitment to quality represent the signature trademark of the Matt Brewing Company and our award-winning Saranac Beers. As one of the few remaining great American regional breweries, the Matt Brewing Company has prospered at the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains in Central New York for over a century. Under the leadership of the third (Nick) and fourth (Fred) generations of the Matt Family, the Brewery has earned the reputation as one of the most respected specialty brewers in the country, producing a variety of distinctive, flavorful beers. In 1885, young F.X. Matt I, a German-born immigrant, left a promising career at the famous Duke of Baden Brewery in the Black Forest region of Germany to travel to the United States with the determination and dream of owning his own brewery someday. After several years of brewing experience at the Bierbaur Brewery, F.X. Matt re-organized the faltering brewery to create The West End Brewing Company in 1888. Serving as both the star salesman and brewmaster, the brewery quickly became one of the largest and most successful of the 12 breweries operating in Utica at the time. Today, Nick Matt (Chairman and CEO) and his nephew Fred (President and COO) continue this proud tradition with the celebrated Saranac family of beers – a beer brewed to the same exacting standards of quality F.X. Matt established more than a century ago.

Shiner Beer

From its earliest time under the Shiner Brewing Association in 1909, to that fateful day in 1914 when Kosmos Spoetzl saw an opportunity to bring classic Bavarian brewing traditions to his fellow immigrants, through the “Great Experiment” of Prohibition and Great Depression, the “Little Brewery” has stuck to what they know best- handcrafting the finest beer! Every drop of Shiner is brewed and bottled in Shiner Texas. Prosit!

Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.

The Sierra Nevada Brewing Company was established in 1980 by homebrewers Ken Grossman and Paul Camusi. Located in Chico, California, Sierra Nevada Brewing is one of the top craft breweries currently operating in the United States. Sierra Nevada’s Pale Ale is the second best-selling craft beer in the United States, behind the Boston Beer Company’s Samuel Adams Boston Lager. It is currently the sixth-largest brewing company in the United States. The brewery produced 786,000 barrels of beer in 2010. The brewery was named “Green Business of the Year” by the United States Environmental Protection Agency in 2010 for its practices in sustainability. Our most popular beer, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, is a delightful interpretation of a classic style. It has a deep amber color and an exceptionally full-bodied, complex character. Generous quantities of premium Cascade hops give the Pale Ale its fragrant bouquet and spicy flavor.

Angry Orchard

Cider has a rich history in Europe as well as in the US. In colonial times, hard cider was a staple and by far the most popular alcoholic beverage because of the prevalence of its main ingredient—the apple. Our cider makers have been making ciders for decades. Eager to learn more about the art of cider making, our team has experimented with different styles, crafting ciders for themselves and sharing them with close friends. After years of experimenting with different types of apples from all over the map and different cider-making techniques we learned along the way, we came up with a really imaginative, creative recipe. We knew we had something different and special…and decided we had to share these great recipes with cider drinkers across the country.

Magners Original Irish Cider

Still taking inspiration from the historic methods they used when Magners started making cider back in 1935, they use 17 varieties of apples, waiting until they drop before pressing and filtering them in the traditional way. They take time to ferment the cider and even more time to let it mature, up to 2 years in fact, tasting it along the way.
Sure, there are faster ways of making cider, but then it wouldn’t be Magners.
