At Shore Point Distributing Company, Inc., we are committed to fostering a culture of environmental responsibility. Sustainability is at the core of our operations, and we continuously seek ways to reduce our carbon footprint while maintaining the highest level of service for our customers.
One of our key initiatives is the integration of natural gas trucks into our fleet, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions compared to traditional diesel vehicles. By investing in cleaner fuel alternatives, we are taking proactive steps to minimize our environmental impact while ensuring efficient and reliable distribution.
In addition to our fleet advancements, we implemented a 1,203-kilowatt PV solar energy system in 2011. This system offsets 75% of our annual electric load, eliminating over 1.89 million pounds of CO2 emissions every year. By harnessing renewable energy, we are reducing our dependence on fossil fuels and contributing to a more sustainable future.
Shore Point is also committed to waste reduction efforts by actively recycling our cardboard and plastic shrink wrap. These initiatives further support our sustainability goals by minimizing landfill waste and promoting the reuse of materials.
